    Zelensky warned that Russia would launch a particularly brutal attack on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

    Kiev, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday that 22 people were killed in a deadly attack on a railway station on the country’s Independence Day, saying Ukraine would fight to the end. Zelensky said that ‘we don’t care how many soldiers you have, we only care about our land. We will fight for it till the end. Six months have passed since the start of the war only on Wednesday. However, the US has warned that Russia is preparing for referendums in occupied territories of Ukraine. It will try to formalize Russian control.

    Zelensky said 22 people were killed in a Russian missile attack on the Chaplino station in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, news agency AFP reported. Whereas earlier he said that 15 people were killed and 50 injured in the attack. He said, ‘Chaplino is our problem today. 22 people are currently dead, including five who were burned in a car. One child died, he was 11 years old. A Russian rocket destroyed his house.

    Notably, on 24 August 1991, Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union. Earlier, Zelensky warned that Russia could launch a particularly brutal attack on Ukraine’s Independence Day. He asked the people of Ukraine to be prepared for this. US national security coordinator John Kirby has claimed that Russia ordered officials to begin preparations for a fake referendum. Such a Russian announcement could come out before the end of this week.

    Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. Johnson praised Ukraine for six months of relentless resistance to Russian aggression. He said that Ukraine is defending its right to live in peace, freedom and therefore Ukraine will win.
