Biden asked for Modi’s autograph, said – your great craze in America, Australia has also appreciated

Hiroshima. When US President Joe Biden met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Quad meet, the Indian leader spoke of the large number of requests he received from prominent citizens to attend his event during his visit to Washington DC next month. Officials reported this information on Sunday. Joe Biden told Prime Minister Modi, ‘He has received a flood of requests from prominent citizens of the country to attend your upcoming program and because of that he is facing a challenge.’ Prime Minister Modi will visit Washington DC next month.

Echoing similar sentiments, he said, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he too had found it difficult to accommodate all the requests he had received from the Indian community for an event where Modi would speak on Tuesday. However, the venue of this event to be held in Sydney has a seating capacity of 20,000 people. Both President Biden and Prime Minister Albanese complained to PM Modi about their peculiar challenges.

Albanese recalled how over 90,000 people welcomed him at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad earlier this year. In this regard, Biden mildly told PM Modi that he should get his autograph. Prime Minister Modi and Albanese arrived at Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the Test match between India and Australia in March 2023. At this time, the two leaders visited the stadium.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Hiroshima on May 19 to attend the G-7 summit, termed the Indo-Pacific region as an ‘engine’ of global trade, innovation and development during the Quad Summit on Saturday and said its success and security are integral to the world. The meeting was attended by US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Quad has emerged as an important platform to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.’ He said that the success and security of the Indo-Pacific region is important to the entire world and ‘we are moving forward on a constructive agenda and democratic principles’.

“With united efforts, we are giving reality to our vision of a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region,” the Prime Minister said. He said there is no doubt that the Indo-Pacific region is the ‘engine’ of global business, innovation and development. PM Modi said that Quad will work towards human welfare, peace and prosperity.

It should be noted that the Quad Summit is being organized in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit. The first Quad Summit was scheduled to take place in Australia on May 24. A proposed meeting of leaders of the Quad countries in Sydney has been canceled after US President Joe Biden postponed a trip to Australia to focus on the country’s dire economic crisis.
