Rakesh Bapat B’day Spl: Seeing Rakesh Bapat, when Jaya Bachchan said to Abhishek, ‘Your competition is with this’

Rakesh Bapat is currently dominating ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ aired on Bhut. The pair of Rakesh and Shamita Sethi are being liked a lot. Born on September 1 in Mumbai, Rakesh is celebrating his 43rd birthday this year at the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. In addition to the films ‘Dil Will Pair Bar’ and ‘Heroine’, Rakesh is known for his famous TV shows ‘Sat Fere’, ‘Mariyada’, ‘Kubul Hai’, ‘Tu Aashiqui’ and ‘Bahu Hamari Rajinikanth’. But the biggest project of Rakesh’s life so far was his debut film ‘Tum Bin’. The film turned 20 in July this year.

Speaking about ‘Tum Bin’ on the Indian Express before appearing in ‘Bigg Boss Autoti’, Rakesh Bapat said a funny thing about meeting Bachchan’s family. Rakesh called his entire family from Pune during the screening of this film directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Rakesh Bapat says that ‘Amitabh Bachchan’s film’ Aks’ was released on July 13, 2001. It was being screened before our film. We were waiting in the parking area when my eyes fell on Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Jaya ji saw me and came to me and said, you are a father, right? I am very proud to meet you. You are a very promising actor. I always tell Abhishek to see you. The refugee was released a few days ago. He called Abhishek and he hugged me and said ‘Dude look at your promo all the time my mom calls me and says look at this boy, it’s your competition’.

Rakesh further explained that ‘Jaya Bachchan introduced me to Amitabh Bachchan. He met very warmly, seeing that his family members felt that Rakesh had earned some name in the film. Amitabh said that ‘Tum Bin’ looks like a good film. My whole family is shocked to see Bachchan family from the front. Laughing, he said that my parents had fainted.

According to Rakesh Bapat, ‘Dad didn’t want Rakesh to make a career in film. He wanted to do a job, but this incident changed his thinking. After that my father’s attitude towards my work changed.
