New Delhi. Many a times the players on the tennis court act out of frustration, the video of which later goes viral on social media. Something similar happened to Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, who crashed into courtroom cameras. Medvedev lost 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to Russia’s Andrey Rublev in the semifinals of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati on Saturday. Rublev will face Alexander Zverev for his first Masters 1000 title on Sunday.
In a thrilling second semi-final, Zverev beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4). It is also seen as a warm-up before the US Open. Medvedev was the tournament’s top seed and considered a title contender, but Rublev beat him in the second set while chasing the ball down the baseline.

Medvedev, who won the tournament in 2019, also did not meet media persons on Saturday but Rublev said the incident was worrying. ‘Of course, it’s really dangerous at the moment,’ Rubelov told reporters. This is not good for the athlete as he may get injured. He also said, ‘I hope everything is fine with him. At least, the way he was playing, it didn’t seem serious.
