The former world number 1 player wrote, ‘I would like to inform you that I have decided not to participate in the next season of Wimbledon, which will be held from June 28 to July 11. I will also not play in the Olympic Games to be held on July 24-30.
The goal is to prolong my career and continue to do what makes me happy, which is to compete at the highest level and fight for those professional and personal goals at the highest level of competition.
