Rafael Nadal returned to the court after six weeks

mason Rafael Nadal’s return to the court after six weeks was unremarkable as he lost in three sets to Borna Coric at the Western and Southern Open tennis tournament. Coric defeated the Spanish star 7-6 (9), 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the next round.

Nadal, who has won a record 22 men’s Grand Slam championships, took to the court for the first time since July 6. He was playing in this tournament to prepare before the US Open. The 36-year-old Nadal, seeded second and ranked third in the world, however, looked perfectly fit. The match lasted two hours and 51 minutes and Nadal had no fitness issues during it.
