A 355-year-old man has been shot dead in an old dispute between two families over pig farming in Kheda village of GTB enclave here. And his relatives were injured. Fighting broke out between Sandeep Chandolia and Vicky’s family around 11pm on Sunday, but police intervened and dispersed them, police said. A few hours later, GTB Enclave police received a report of gunfire from the same spot, police said. They said that Sandeep Chandolia’s relatives Bikash and Suresh were shot.
He was pronounced dead at GTB Hospital
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram said Bikash was shot in the shoulder and was pronounced dead at GTB Hospital while Suresh was undergoing treatment. He was shot in the stomach. According to Chandolia, the case has been filed under the appropriate section of the Indian Penal Code.
An FIR was lodged against both in April.
“We have arrested two suspects, Vicky and her brother Rocky,” a senior official said. During questioning, Vicky told police that he and his family were upset at the constant fights with the other party. So, he decided to eradicate Chandolia. They shot at him, but missed. “There is a meat shop in Chandolia’s Floor Market and Vicky keeps pigs in Kheda village near his house. They have had quarrels in the past about this. Police said an FIR was lodged against the two in April last year.
