    Cincinnati Open: Zverev and Ashley Barty reach final


    mason Women’s top seed Ash Barty and men’s Olympic gold medalist Alexander Zverev advanced to the finals of the Western and Southern Open (Cincinnati Open) tennis tournament for the first time on Saturday. The 25-year-old tennis star produced a powerful serve to defeat world number 22 Angelique Kerber 6-2, 7-5. She will face number 76 Jill Teichmann in the final.

    Teichman, who enters the wild card, has already defeated Naomi Osaka and Belinda Bencic. She continued her impressive performance in the semifinals, defeating fourth seed Karolina Pliskova 6–2, 6–4 to qualify for the final against the defending Wimbledon champions.

    The men’s final will be between Zverev and seventh-ranked Andrei Rublev. Third-seeded Zverev defeated second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (4) and Rublev defeated top-seeded Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
