Agartala. Tripura Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das resigned from her post on Thursday, after which she was appointed vice-president of the BJP’s state branch. Das said he resigned voluntarily because he wanted to work for the team. “I asked the team to bring me back to organizational work,” he told a news conference. I thank the party president (Manik Saha) and Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev for giving me the opportunity to work for the organization.
Rebati Mohan Das told ANI that he had said, “For a long time I have been requesting the Chief Minister to release me from this post because I am a member of the organization, so it will be difficult for me to hold this post.”

It was announced at the press conference that Das has been appointed vice-president of the party’s state branch. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha member Pratima Bhowmik on Thursday resigned as vice-president of the BJP’s Tripura unit.
In July, he became the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment.
