Bangalore. In just 5 days, 34 cases of corona virus infection have been reported at the sealed Christian College of Nursing in Horambu, Bangalore. State Health Minister K Sudhakar gave this information on Friday. He said most of these patients are asymptomatic. Currently, the process of contact tracing and testing has been expedited. Corona has exploded twice in the state in a week. On Tuesday, 65 new patients were found at the nursing college in Kolkata district.
According to news agency ANI, the health minister said most of the affected students were from Kerala and West Bengal. He said, “Since August 28, 34 students at Harimavur Christian College of Nursing have tested positive. Most of it is asymptomatic. The primary and secondary contacts of these students are also being investigated. Most of the students are from Kerala and some from West Bengal.
The corona explosion at the Christian College of Nursing was reported on August 28. Of the 32 infected at the time, 2 were staff members and the rest were students. According to media reports, all of them have also traveled in recent times. 20 students returned from Kerala. At the same time, 10 students returned from West Bengal. The corona eruption began with the appearance of symptoms.
The college administration informed the Bruhat Bangalore Municipal Corporation about this and on August 28, about 100 students were screened. The report of 10 students came positive through rapid antigen test, after which they were admitted to Government Covid Care Center (CCC). Another 70 people were tested the next day, 6 of whom tested positive.
Then, when the scope of the investigation was extended, on August 30, five more students were found infected. The number of patients found on Tuesday was 11. In the wake of the growing case, the authorities decided to test the Covid-1 test of 300 students.
