Jharkhand News: Mineral trucks will now have to pay toll tax, the state government’s revenue will be Rs 700 crore

Ranchi. Heavy vehicles carrying minerals from various mining areas of Jharkhand will now have to pay toll tax. The state cabinet took the decision on Tuesday. Bandana Dadel, secretary of the state cabinet coordination department, said their management procedures were being worked out. He said that by imposing toll tax on vehicles carrying minerals, the state government could get revenue of around Rs 700 crore annually.

Vandana Dadel said, ‘Toll tax rates will vary from place to place. The cabinet approved them on Tuesday. The road construction department will create specific points for toll collection on selected roads. Regarding e-FIR Thana, Bandana said that e-FIR Thana will be opened in 22 districts except Khunti and Ramgarh. People can file e-FIRs in cases where the identity of the accused is unknown and the complainant does not need to come to the police station.

State Cabinet A total of 17 proposals were considered on Tuesday. The Cabinet also approved Tk 80.75 crore to the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Authority (JREDA) for the implementation of the Central Government’s Solar City project.

The cabinet secretary said Giridih district would be developed as a solar city in the first phase. According to the Centre’s guidelines, households with an annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh will be given 100 per cent subsidy for installation of rooftop solar power system. 70 per cent subsidy will be given to households earning more than Rs 1 lakh, whereas the share of Center and State will be 40 per cent and 30 per cent respectively.
