Javed Akhtar wrote articles for Samana, referring to the Taliban; He said this about the Hindu community

Mumbai. Lyricist Javed Akhtar, who compared the Taliban to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak (RSS) and the World Hindu Council (VHP), described Hindus as the most tolerant community in the world. In an article in Samana, a Shiv Sena mouthpiece, he said Taliban-ruled Afghanistan could never be compared to India. He described Indians as soft-hearted people. Earlier, Akhtar targeted RSS and VHP.

Through Samana, the Shiv Sena questioned Javed Akhtar’s comments about the Taliban about the Sangh and the VHP. Akhtar’s remarks in an editorial published in Samana are insulting to Hindu culture. The party wrote, ‘… Whenever bigotry, anti-national distortion has increased in the country, Javed Akhtar has torn the masks of those bigots on every occasion. He sang ‘Bande Mataram’ without caring about the fundamentalists. Yet we do not compare the union with the Taliban. His statement that there is no difference between the goals of organizations like the Taliban and the Taliban is completely wrong.

Akhtar wrote in Samana, “In fact, in a recent interview, I said, ‘Hindus are the most civilized and tolerant community in the world.’ Because Indians are not extremists by nature. Being normal is in their DNA. Akhtar further said that his critics were upset that he had found many similarities between the Taliban and right-wing Hindu ideology.

He writes, ‘There are many similarities here. The Taliban is forming an Islamic government on the basis of religion, the Hindu right wants a Hindu state. Although the Taliban wants to minimize and marginalize women’s rights, Hindu rights have also made it clear that they are not in favor of women’s and girls’ freedom. This time, he praised Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
