New Delhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday condemned the Narendra Modi government for taking police action against residential doctors protesting on the streets in protest of the delay in NEET-PG counseling in the national capital. Rahul tweeted, “It was PR (public relations) to show that it was raining flowers, in fact it was raining injustice. I am with the Corona fighters against the atrocities of the central government.”
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra has also targeted the central government for taking police action against doctors. He tweeted, “At the time of Corona, these young doctors supported citizens across the country, far from their loved ones. Now is the time to stand by the doctors of the whole country and wake up Narendra Modi, who used the police force against them and ignored their demands. Doctors need respect and entitlement, not false PR.

Intensifying their movement for delay in counseling for NEET-PG 2021, resident doctors of government hospitals marched from Maulana Azad Medical College to the Supreme Court on Monday. However, when the police intervened, a scuffle broke out between the two sides. Police detained at least 12 protesters and gave up.
The Federation of Resident Doctors Association has been protesting for the past few days. Last year, the government gave flowers to doctors and health workers for contributing to the epidemic during a nationwide lockdown on coronavirus control.
