Mumbai. In Maharashtra, 11.91 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated against Covid-1 against on Saturday, setting a new record for one-day vaccinations in the state. Earlier on August 21, 11.04 lakh doses were given in one day in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Health, 11,91,921 people have been vaccinated today. A total of 6.27 crore vaccines have been given in the state so far. Additional Chief Secretary of the department Dr Pradeep Beas said, “As many as 11,91,921 vaccines were administered till Saturday evening. Vaccination campaigns are going on till late night in many places. The final figures will come out tomorrow. “According to the department, Maharashtra is second only to Uttar Pradesh in vaccination. But the state is still at the top in terms of the number of people receiving two doses of the vaccine. The statement said that 1.71 crore people in Maharashtra have received both doses.”
What is the rate of transmission in the state?
On Saturday, 4,130 new cases of corona virus were found in Maharashtra and 64 infected people were confirmed dead. The state health department said the total number of cases in Maharashtra was 64,82,117 and the death toll reached 1,37,707. Today, 2,506 patients have been discharged from the hospital, bringing the total number of infected people to 62,88,851. The number of patients undergoing treatment for the infection in the state is now 52,025.
Apart from Hingoli, no case of Covid-1 of was found in rural areas of Chandrapur, Nanded, Akola and Nagpur districts and in the municipalities of Parwani, Jalgaon and Dhulo. A maximum of 300 new cases have been registered in Ahmednagar district. Since then, 506 patients have been found from rural Pune. Of the eight regions in the state, the Pune region has the highest number of 1,560 new cases, followed by the Mumbai region with 951 patients.
