Famous Food Joint of Delhi: (Dr. Rameshwar Dayal) You must know about the Sadar Bazar area of Delhi. It is said to be the largest wholesale market in Asia, where you can find everything from home to abroad. Merchants from neighboring states come to this market for shopping and buy goods and sell in their states. Now if you come to such a big market, you will feel hungry and you will eat something. So today we feed you rice in the Sadar Bazaar. The specialty of this two year old shop is that this dish is made with desi ghee.
There will be hardly any Bhaturwala in Delhi who will prepare it in desi ghee. Their bhaturas are also special, so the pindi chhol is such that you will start licking your fingers while eating it. The people of Delhi are crazy about this shop, even the traders from outside who come to this market, they must also eat gram fried in this desi ghee. The funny thing is that they have a taste in taste, but the style of serving is quite simple.
The taste did not diminish even after sharing
Let us tell you that there are about 80 big and small markets in Sadar Bazaar. One of them is a crockery market with two shops on the street corner. One is called ‘Nanda Bhature Wal Di Hatti’ and the other is called ‘Nanda Di Hatti’. A few years ago, there was only one Chhole-Bhatura shop here, but after the family split, there were two shops. But let us tell you that there was a division in the family, but no division in the taste of Chola-Bhatura.
Go to any store, Chola-Bhatura will taste equally wonderful and lively, the accompanying pickles are the same and the style of serving is the same. In both the shops, Chola-Bhatura is available in desi ghee, which spreads fragrance all around.
Lentils and pindi cholai are excellent in Bhathur
If you go to any Chhole-Bhatura store in Delhi, you will usually find a stuffing of cheese and spices in Bhatura, but it is a shop whose bhaturas are filled with spicy patties of mug dal. Bhaturas are fried in desi ghee. Chola is not the answer here, shopkeepers call it Pindi Chola. There is also tempering of desi ghee.
Now see how they can be served. The rice is placed on a plate. A piece of fried potato is also placed on top of the gram. Added green chillies, amla pickles and green chutney. The hot bhatura is placed next to the plate. This method of serving has been going on for years. People come, take a plate of chhole-bhatura and eat it standing next to him.
Here the spicy patty of mutt dal is filled with bhature.
The satisfaction in the mouths of the people who eat it is that they are enjoying another taste of Chhole-Bhatura. One plate of it is 100 rupees. Garlic and onions are not used in their food.
Desi Ghee’s Chhole-Bhature has been selling for 90 years
Since you have eaten a lot of gram made with desi ghee, if something goes sweet, the fun will increase. In summer, sweet lassi is available in both the shops at a price of Rs. If you go there in winter, you will get hot rose jamun with gram. The price of the two is 50 rupees. This work of Chola-Bhatura has been going on at this place since 1948.
At that time Nandalal started selling Chhol-Bhatura on Makkar Street. After that his sons Surendra Prakash, Om Prakash, Chandra Prakash and Subhash occupied the shop. Now third generation people are running both shops. The store is closed every Sunday.
Work begins at the morning and the shop runs until the evening. The nearest metro station is Pool Bangash Is. But from there you have to take a rickshaw. Anyway, after so much effort if you eat this dish, once the wow comes out of your mouth.
