Can you imagine that a jackal can make millions of rupees? Unbelievable as it sounds, a coastal jackal was recently sold in Karnataka for over Rs 4 lakh.
The auction held at Bantwal, 25 km east of Mangaluru, shocked people to see the jackfruit being sold at such a price. A religious discourse was organized to inaugurate the newly renovated Mullarpatna Masjid. Later the jackfruit auction was held. After a fierce competition between two local leaders, Aziz and Latif, the fruit was sold.
The video of the auction went viral on social media and people were shocked to see the price of the jackfruit. Apart from vegetables, many other items auctioned in the mosque were bought at high prices. The total amount collected will be handed over to the management committee for the maintenance and operation of the mosque. People are surprised to know that a jackal can be sold for 4.33 lakh rupees.
Jackfruit is quite popular across India and it has also provided employment to many people.
