Kate Review: Bright action and an emotional face from a professional assistant – Kate

The history of the terrible and violent mafia in Japan is very old. The most prominent group is called the “Yakuza” who try to prove themselves highly civilized and sophisticated. The Japanese police have always been in trouble because of the group’s bodybuilding, tattoos, neatly styled prison hair and always wearing suits. Yakuza has changed over time and most of their time is now spent in business, but in the world of organized crime the fear of yakuza is believed all over the world. Enmity with Yakuza is said to mean losing hands. In the release of director Cedric Nichols-Troyan’s Amazon Prime video “Kate”, a professional assistant Kate (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is dragged into the middle of a power struggle in the Yakuza family, married to her mentor and boss Varic (Woody). Harrelson) caught on bet.

Kate, unaware of Warrick’s move, kills everyone and makes her boss Warrick a real chess player, killing him before he dies. Kate is an action movie. Great job. After a long time, such action in hand to hand combat has been seen in any film. One thing that is very good about violent and action movies is that after watching them, the viewers feel very tired and fall asleep in peace. This is because in such a film, the storm of action, the viewer feels himself. Kate’s specialty is a mixture of emotions in a very beautiful way. Despite being a professional assistant, Kate has a policy of never killing anyone in front of children, even if she has to be shot hundreds of meters away.

In an assignment, he hesitates to kill an elderly Yakuza officer because the officer’s youngest daughter lives with him. Despite all the protests, Kate killed her father in front of her at Varik’s direction. Confused by this incident, he decided to quit his job as a professional assistant.

In the final assignment of her bloody life, Kate misses a goal because someone mixed poison in her drink. Kate arrives at Yakuza’s biggest boss, Kizima, as she unravels the plot of the poison story and is on top of everyone who comes her way. To avenge Kizima, she kidnaps her granddaughter Annie (Miku Martinu) and then learns that Annie is the same child whose father was killed by Kate in front of her. Kate’s love for Annie wakes up and the story takes a turn when she learns that Annie’s grandfather wants to take her place by killing Kizima’s colleague Renji Kizima’s family. Kijima then shakes hands with Kate for Annie and finally, after a fierce fight, Kate kills Ranji. He had one last meeting with Warrick, Kate’s boss who helped Ranji, and he killed Warrick before he died.

Having a story in an action film is unique in itself. Kate is a film about guns, beatings, Japanese swords, knives and all kinds of weapons. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. Knowing the fact that Kate is her father’s killer, Annie’s hatred for him and taking advantage of Warrick to make her a professional assistant like Kate is also a new dimension of the story that the audience liked.

Fans of the Die Hard series will remember Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She played Bruce Willis’ daughter in the 2007 Die Hard series “Live Free or Die Hard.” Amazing actress. Her work in the action sequence may remind you of Uma Thurman (Kill Bill). If you want to see the potential of Woody Harrelson, you should check out the web series “True Detective”. Her parts in Kate are rarely seen, but when the climax reveals her privacy to Kate, very few actors are able to do that with the cleanliness she has used to protect herself. The rest of the actors did well too but Mary and Woody directed the whole film. The film is written by Umair Alim, who had earlier written a similar action thriller film “Extraction” in 2015. Umair’s script doesn’t breathe, just keeps running. That’s the decent thing to do, and it should end there.

Nathan Bar composed the music for the film. Nathan, who learned music from the age of 4, not only composes music, but also plays all the instruments he uses. Her music in Kate has proven to be effective in keeping pace with the film. After giving music to many films and web series, Nathan’s hard work in creating the soundtrack of this film can be clearly heard. Kate’s only weakness is the lack of novelty in her story. The story of the hero or heroine’s fight with the Japanese mafia or yakuza is almost the same. If sensitive scenes are removed from Kate, the action itself seems pointless. There is a lot to see in Keanu Reeves’ film series “John Wick” “Kate”. The film manages to entertain as well as inform.
