Copenhagen. European football’s governing body UEFA has invited Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and medical staff to help save his life for the European Championship (Euro 2020) final. Eriksson collapsed on the field on 12 June after suffering a heart attack in his team’s first match against Finland.

Paramedics rescued him with the help of a ‘defibrillator’ (a type of medical device). Denmark will face England in the Euro 2020 semi-finals on Wednesday. The final will be played on Sunday.

Erickson was given CPR on the field to save his life

Eriksson fell to the ground in the last minute of the first half against Finland and had to be rushed to hospital for treatment.
