    Christian Pulisic tests positive for Covid-19 ahead of FIFA World Cup qualifiers, big blow for team


    London. American footballer and Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been infected with the corona virus. Two weeks before the FIFA World Cup-2022 qualifiers, his team suffered a major setback. Chelsea Club has also confirmed that Pulisic is Covid-19 positive.

    Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said on Friday that the 22-year-old American player has tested positive and remains in isolation. Because of this, Pulisic will not be able to play in the match against Arsenal on Saturday. The United States will play three matches in seven days in World Cup qualifying, which begins in September.

    US coach Greg Berhalter plans to announce his roster next week. American players from European clubs and major league teams will report to Nashville starting August 29th. The TAM team players will play their opening qualifier in El Salvador on September 2.

    Chelsea have also confirmed that Pulisic has contracted the coronavirus. (twitter)

    “Unfortunately I tested positive for covid-19 earlier this week,” Pulisic wrote in his Instagram post on Friday. “Luckily I’m fully vaccinated and so far symptom free, can’t wait to come back,” she said. Thank you all for the support.’
