Paris. Legendary footballer Lionel Messi scored the first goal for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), ending the fans’ wait. Thanks to this goal, the team lost to Manchester City 2-0 in the group stage of the Champions League. Messi, the six-time FIFA World Player of the Year, scored in the 74th minute, for which he received a flick from Kylin Mbappe.
After the victory, Messi said, “I am happy to score a goal. I haven’t played much lately and new teams are slowly forming. The more you play together, the better your performance will be. Although Messi scored 72 goals for Barcelona, this is his first goal in three matches for PSG.
Messi joined the French club last month
This is City’s first defeat against PSG in the last five matches. PSG is at the top of group ‘A’ on the basis of goal average. The club is tied with Braz and PSG by four points and City is in third place with three points.

Messi joined the French club after breaking away from Barcelona last month. Messi has signed a two-year contract with PSG. Messi’s total salary at the PSG is 35 million euros (about 300 billion rupees), which is less than Neymar’s (38 million euros, or about 3 billion 22 crore rupees).
