    Panchamrit Recipe: Krishna’s birthday is being celebrated with great fanfare all over the world. This day is also called Janmashtami or Gokulashtami. On the occasion of the Lord’s birth, various kinds of food are offered to him. It also contains Kanhaiya’s favorite Bhog Panchamrit, along with Makhan-Mishri.     Panchamrit is made by mixing five ingredients. These include milk, curd, ghee, sugar, honey. After the birth of Lord Krishna, Panchamrita is offered as Prasad to all the devotees. Let’s learn the simple method of making Panchamrit

    Materials for making panchamrit
    Milk- 1 cup
    Yogurt- 1 cup
    Ghee – 2 tsp
    Honey – 2 tbsp
    Sugar – 2 tbsp
    Basil leaves – 3-4

    How to make Panchamrit
    To prepare panchamrit first take curd with cream and beat it well in a thin or deep-bottomed vessel. Be careful not to make the curd too thin. Panchamrit requires maintaining some consistency in curd. Beating the curd may take 1-2 minutes. Then mix the milk in the curd and mix well with the curd with the help of a big spoon. You can also use cold milk if you want.

    Now add 2 tbsp of honey and 2 tbsp of sugar (or as per taste) to this curd-milk mixture and stir it with the panchamrit with the help of a spoon, till the sugar is completely mixed in the panchamrit. His beloved Panchamrita is prepared for Lord Krishna’s offering. Finally, break the tulsi leaves and place them in panchamrit. Tulsi leaves are necessarily kept in Panchamrita as they are believed to have great religious significance.
