Ranchi, Karn, a fifth pass, trained online and then became a criminal of the digital world, i.e. a cyber criminal. The miscreant seen in the picture is a resident of Jamtara, who used to cheat people by committing cyber crimes. One such case was registered by ICICI Bank in the Cyber Cell of CID, following which the CID team took action and arrested the accused.
Jamtara in Jharkhand is considered to be the base of cyber criminals in the country. Cybercriminals here have preyed on many of the country’s biggest celebrities and leaders and since then a crackdown has been launched against them. Cybercriminals are changing their permanent pattern, which is constantly unfolding. The CID team revealed information about one such case and arrested Karan Mondal, one of the accused in the case.
The SP said that inter-state connections of the accused are also being probed to find out the incidents of crime committed by him. He said that this criminal has learned cybercrime techniques through 5th pass and online training. Giving information, CID Cyber Cell SP S Karthik said, if someone is cheated, the victim should immediately call 1930 to stop the money transfer, so that they can get their money back.
