At the BCCI Apex Council meeting on September 20, match fees for domestic cricketers could be increased by about 100 per cent. The board, in collaboration with state agencies, can give central contracts to domestic cricketers.

Reserve players are paid 50 percent of the match fee.
Sourav Ganguly announced a central deal in 2019 after becoming BCCI president. Now it can become a reality. Meanwhile, women cricketers will also expect an increase in match fees. At present, women cricketers are paid Rs 12,500 per ODI and Rs 6,250 per T20. Match fees for female players are also likely to increase by 25 to 40 percent.
