Subhash Ghai thought of casting someone else for the new two films Vidyatha and Hero. He is none other than Sanjay Dutt. For which Subhash Ghai prepared the hero’s character. Veteran actors Shammi Kapoor and Dilip Kumar had to wait for a long time on the sets during the shooting of Vidhata due to Sanjay Dutt’s drug addiction at the time. And because Sanjay often came late to the sets and sometimes the shoot had to be cancelled. Somehow, Subhash Ghai finished the film ‘Vidhata’ with Sanjay Dutt and seeing this behavior of Sanjay Dutt, he cast Jackie Shroff instead of him in ‘Hero’.
