Himesh Reshammiya was approached for a biopic of Ranu Mandal to be released in 2022

After Ranu Mandal’s melodious songs, preparations are underway to take his life story to the screen. The name of the film will be ‘Miss Ranu Maria’ which is directed by Hrishikesh Mandal. Actress Ishika Dey, who has acted in Bengali and Hindi films, is going to play the role of Ranu Mandal in the film. According to a report in the Times, Ika Shika said that the film will be shot in Kolkata and Mumbai.

He said that he was probably not the first choice of the producers for Ranu Mandal’s biopic. It was earlier reported that actress Sudipta Chakraborty will be appearing in the show, but there were problems with the schedule dates for taking Ish Shika due to lockdown. Ika Shika has appeared in ‘Lal Kaptan’ and web series ‘Sacred Games’.

Ika Shika Dey further said, “My director told me, we are in touch with Himesh Reshammiya. No response has been received from them yet, but it is expected that the response will be positive. He said that I am very excited for the movie, but first I have to lose 10 kg weight in 2 months for the movie.
