A day after Ashish Vidyarthi surprised everyone by announcing his second marriage to entrepreneur Rupali Barua, he issued a video statement on Friday talking about the same. In his statement, the veteran actor recalled how he met Rupali after his ‘amicable’ split with his first wife Pilu. He also clarified that he is not 60 years old, but 57 years old. Ashish urged everyone to respect ‘how people live their lives’.
“I literally put the word out into the universe. I was 55 at the time, maybe, and I said I wanted to marry someone. This is how Rupali Barua met and chatted then met. Then we discovered something interesting about each other and we thought we could walk together as husband and wife. So Rupali and I got married. He is 50 and I am 57, not 60. But age doesn’t matter my friend. All of us can be happy. Whatever our age? So, just wanted to let you keep moving. Let us respect how people are living their lives,” he said. Several pictures of Ashish and Rupali’s wedding are going viral on social media. Ashish also talked about his second marriage on Thursday and told The Times of India, “It’s a wonderful feeling to be married to Rupali at this stage of my life. We had a court marriage in the morning, followed by a get-together in the evening.”
Meanwhile, earlier today, Ashish’s first wife Pilu Vidyarthi also spoke about her first husband’s second marriage and shared that everyone deserves a second chance. “He needs a partner. We cannot hang a man for his needs. He found someone which is a good thing,” he told Hindustan Times.
