Shwarya Rai Bachchan will also be seen in the film. A horse died accidentally during the shooting, after which PETA filed an FIR against Mani Ratnam’s production house and the owner of the horse. Following this FIR, the Animal Welfare Board has now summoned Mani Ratnam for questioning.
Shooting Shwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Prakash Raj are part of the shooting nowadays. According to media reports, while the crew was shooting in Hyderabad, an accident occurred and the horse lost its life. Currently, the shooting of ‘Pannian Selvan’ is going on in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. At present, no statement has been received from Mani Ratnam or his production house on the matter.
In this regard, police officials say they received a complaint about the death of a horse by a Peta India volunteer on August 18. A lawsuit was filed Thursday (September 2nd) into the allegations. The allegation was that on August 11, a horse died during a photo shoot on a private plot of land near a film studio.
Based on the allegations, a case has been filed against the management of the production company Madras Talkies and the owner of the horse under the Cruelty to Animals Act, an official of Abdullahpurmet police station in Hyderabad said.
