Akshay Kumar recently grabbed everyone’s attention after sharing his look as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the Marathi movie ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat’. However, if a recent report in Pinkvilla is to be believed, Akshay will not play a full-fledged role in the film. Rather, his role as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was only a cameo for which the actor would shoot for just seven to eight days.
“It is a story from chapter of brilliant Maratha history and describes the life and journey of 7 warriors of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Akshay Kumar to play such a legendary character and he prepared for his character for 20 to 25 days with body language and phrasing experts. He will be seen speaking in Marathi, and his command over the language to deliver heavy-duty dialogues in a certain dialect will surprise the audience,” a source close to the development told an entertainment portal.
This comes a day after Akshay Kumar surprised everyone and dropped a video, showing his first look as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the film. In the clip, Akshay is seen walking in a king’s court while wearing a traditional Marathi outfit with a mustache and turban.
Talking about the movie Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, it is about the story of seven brave warriors, whose only goal was to bring Shivaji Maharaj’s dream of Swarajya to reality, writing one of the most glorious pages of history.
The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Vasim Qureshi. Apart from Akshay, the film has an ensemble cast comprising of Jai Dudhan, Utkarsh Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan and Praveen Tarde. It is a Qureshi Production presentation and is slated for a theatrical release on Diwali 2023 in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
