Delhi. In the House Khas area of Delhi, an Uber cab driver stabbed a retired Delhi Police sub-inspector. The victim’s wife and daughter were also with them at the time of the incident. While raising their voices, people grabbed the cab driver at the scene and beat him. Relatives rushed the injured 611-year-old Jitendra Rana to AIIMS Hospital for treatment, where he is undergoing treatment. At the same time, after receiving information from the House Khas police station, the accused rescued the 34-year-old prince from the mob and arrested him. Police arrested him after filing a case of attempted murder.
According to media reports, Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Tagore said that around midnight last September-September, House Khas police received a PCR call that a cab driver had stabbed a passenger. Police learned that the injured had already been admitted to Ames Hospital. People at the scene grabbed the cab driver and beat him. He was also injured due to this. The police investigation has revealed that the injured Jitendra Rana is a retired sub-inspector of Delhi Police.
The victims were returning from relatives
He, along with his wife and daughter, visited his relative’s house in Rajouri Garden in September. On the way back he told the cab driver to slowly fix the windshield of the car. There was an argument between the two about correcting the mirror. In such a situation, when the victim asked the cab driver to stop the car near Laxman Public School, the angry cab driver attacked him with a knife 4 to 5 times.
Uber has promised police help
Uber has expressed grief over the incident. A spokesman for Uber India said: “What is being said is highly reprehensible and should not happen to anyone. We are ready to assist the police in the investigation of this incident and the driver’s access to the app has also been removed.
