New Delhi. The Manchester Test against England was canceled due to a series of corona infections in Team India. The British media has blamed Indian head coach Ravi Shastri for this, while former England captain Mike Earthan has blamed the IPL for canceling the 5th Test. But England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief Tom Harrison has a different take on Arthan. Harrison said the cancellation of the fifth Test had nothing to do with the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
The remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 will be played in the UAE from September 19. IPL 2021, which started in India, was postponed earlier this year due to the coronavirus epidemic. Former England captain Mike Earthen told Sky Sports after the cancellation of the 5th Test: “The real issue is the IPL … the players are worried about their participation and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is undoubtedly worried about this tournament.”
ECB chief Tom Harrison said in the issue, “I don’t think there is anything to do with the IPL. This situation did not arise due to the change in the IPL schedule. I basically don’t believe even for a second. Not in this case. 2-1 in a five-Test series India ahead.
The results of the Test series, Harrison said, have something to do with the ICC to formally decide on its outcome. Harrison said the BCCI has offered to reschedule the match, which is good news.

Tom Harrison said the BCCI-proposed Test would be a separate match outside the series instead of the canceled fifth Test. “I think it’s a different situation. We’ve been given a few more options to look at,” Harrison told Sky Sports. If it is a separate match, India will be declared the winner but it has not been officially confirmed yet.

The match could be held in July next year when the Indian team arrives in England on a limited overs tour. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is going to England on a private visit and is likely to meet Harrison on September 22 or 23. Organizing this match next year may also be discussed.
