IND vs ENG: 5th Test between India and England canceled, India could not field

New Delhi. Clouds over the fate of the fifth Test between India and England. After lengthy discussions between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday and Friday, it has been decided that Test matches starting in Manchester from Friday will no longer be played. The England Cricket Board has confirmed that the fifth Test at Old Trafford will no longer be played. India are unable to field the team due to fears of further escalation of corona cases inside the camp.

The results of the series have not been fixed yet. Earlier it was said that India lost the 5th Test match and the series ended 2-2, but the ECB has since removed this part from its press release. It is now being said that India have not lost the 15th Test and the series is still 2-1 for India. The ECB has also given the Indian cricket team the option of finishing the 5th Test next year on a tour of England for a white ball series.

The statement added, “We apologize to our fans and partners for this news. We know that many people will be very frustrated and embarrassed. More information will be shared in due course. ”

Corona was found positive during the last Test at India’s Oval head coach Ravi Shastri Oval. After that, the reports of bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar also came positive. Now, before the Manchester Test, the team’s physio Yogesh Parmar’s Corona Test has also come positive.
