    UP: D2 strain found in blood of dengue patients in Firozabad, find out how dangerous it is


    Lucknow. Dr Bal Balaram Varghese, director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said most of the deaths were due to dengue fever (D2 strain) in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh. “We have been diagnosed with dengue after testing a fever sample in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh,” he told a media briefing at the health and welfare ministry on Thursday.

    Dr B Varghese said deaths in Firozabad and Mathura in UP and even in Agra were evident due to dengue. He said that in samples taken by ICMR from these districts, D2 strain was found, which could cause bleeding and prove fatal. This time, Vargab advised the people of Uttar Pradesh to be careful about mosquitoes. He said the people of the state should refrain from allowing water to accumulate for a long time in places like mosquito breeding grounds. Let us inform that in the past, a team of 11 members of ICMR reached Firozabad and collected samples.

    How Dangerous is the Dengue D-2 Strain?
    According to experts, the D-2 strain of dengue is considered to be the most dangerous. In its infection, a red rash appears on the patient’s body within 3 to 5 days. With this the blood platelets in the body start to decrease rapidly. Experts say dengue is a hemorrhagic fever and shock syndrome that can cause death.

    Dengue mosquitoes breed in stagnant pure water, such as coolers, water tanks, bird water containers, fridge trays, coconut shells, etc.

    Aedes mosquitoes spread dengue. It cannot fly long distances. Dengue mosquitoes bite during the day.

    Dengue fever is caused by a virus. The disease is more prevalent in the rain.

    Symptoms of dengue include pain in the muscles and joints, sudden high fever, severe bleeding from the body, red rash on the hands and feet, severe pain in the face and back of the eyes. Severe headache and vomiting.

    It is noteworthy that the rapid spread of viral fever in Firozabad over the last two weeks has gradually turned into dengue and the outbreak of dengue has spread from the city to the rural areas of the district in the last one week.
