New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi again reached his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi on December 23 and presented a Rs 2,000 crore development project there. He laid the foundation stone of Amul plant in Karkhianov area of Varanasi-Jaunpur road. This is the second visit of the Prime Minister to Varanasi in the last 10 days. Villages within a radius of 50 km from the Amul plant will be connected to the milk revolution. The plant will also make milk products like ice cream, cheese, butter, ghee and khoya. Looking at the example of Gujarat, it can be said without any doubt that the establishment of Amul plant has resulted in a huge increase in the income of many milk producing farming families. In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an MP from Varanasi, has gifted 27 projects worth Rs 2,100 crore in his parliamentary constituency.
Laying of foundation stone of Kashi Bishwanath Corridor
Earlier, on December 13, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kashi Bishwanath Corridor in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It was built in 33 months at a cost of Rs 700 crore. Even some time ago, it did not seem possible to get a view of the Ganges from the Kashi Bishwanath temple. There used to be a very narrow road to go to the temple, but now with millions of devotees visiting, there will be no problem. The construction of Kashi Bishwanath Corridor has revealed the glory of the temple after 241 years. Earlier, between 1777 and 1780, the temple was renovated by Queen Ahlyabai Holkar of the Maratha Empire.
Resolve to brighten the east
During another brief visit to Varanasi on December 23, 2021, he made it clear that he was leaving no stone unturned to move the entire eastern region, including his parliamentary constituency, on the bright road to development. We know that with a BJP-led government at the center and in Uttar Pradesh, the pace of development has naturally accelerated. Narendra Modi did not forget to mention this in every UP visit. They call this system a double engine government.
There is no doubt that the same party or coalition government has developed at the Center and in the states, but at times it has been observed that the BJP has not benefited from the elections. We have seen this happen in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. But as far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, all the political polls that have come out so far have made it clear that most people are happy with the work of the Yogi Adityanath government and the possibility of a BJP government returning to the state.
There have been and may be ups and downs in the political reckoning, but if we look at the ground situation, it is safe to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath have replaced Purbachal. There was a time when news of encephalitis deaths from Gorakhpur and surrounding areas was crammed into the daily newspapers. Long-running broadcasts about meningitis are also broadcast on TV news channels. It is also said that there is no chance to improve the situation after that. But the situation changed after the BJP government came to power in UP, this is true and in front of everyone.
Health in the East has improved
In the Gorakhpur-slum division, earlier only BRD Medical College located in Gorakhpur used to take care of human health. But now it is not. The medical college itself fell ill while carrying the burden of such a large population in seven districts of Purbachal. Now there are four medical colleges in Gorakhpur-slum division. The foundation stone of one has been laid and work plan is being prepared for the other two districts. Gorakhpur has also been given the gift of AIIMS. We can say that health services have multiplied in the East.
Gorakhpur has got world class AIIMS
Yogi Aditya Nath should be credited for launching AIIMS in Gorakhpur. The AIIMS had been there for almost two decades. In 2004 there was a big movement for this under the leadership of Yogi Aditya Nath. As an MP, he strongly demanded the improvement of health services in the eastern part of the parliament and on 22 July 2016, the foundation stone of AIIMS was laid in Gorakhpur. Akhilesh Yadav was then the Chief Minister of UP. It is clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was interested in improving healthcare in eastern Uttar Pradesh, so he put aside partisanship and reaped the fruits of MP Yogi’s struggle with AIIMS in Gorakhpur.
In March 2017, the political leadership in UP changed and Yogi became the Chief Minister and the expected pace of construction of AIIMS began. AIIMS has world class facilities, specialists for all types of treatment. These will be continuously improved. The benefits of Gorakhpur AIIMS will be available not only to the people of Eastern Uttar Pradesh but also to the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and neighboring Nepal. It is estimated that about 70 million people will be able to take advantage of this. In the near future, UP’s first AYUSH University will also start in Gorakhpur on August 28, 2021, founded by President Ram Nath Kobind.
On October 20, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kushinagar, the abode of Lord Buddha, and dedicated the third international airport in the state to the nation. He also laid the foundation stone of the Medical College. Five days later, on October 25, he visited the Buddha’s playground at Siddharthnagar and inaugurated nine government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. This was his third visit to the Gorakhpur-slum division, where he inaugurated three projects worth Rs 9,650 crore, including a fertilizer factory and AIIMS.
The new pace of development is the Eastern Expressway
In mid-November 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Eastern Expressway. Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath said that despite the 19-month corona time, the Eastern Expressway was ready in a record 36-month time. In July 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the expressway. Lucknow is directly connected to Purbachal by this expressway. This has opened a direct path of progress for about 80 million UP people.
On December 20, 2021, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath presented three national highways and several development projects at a cost of Rs. He promised that all roads would be built like American roads.
Kashi’s ancient glory is returning
Especially if we talk about Varanasi, just as the ancient glory of Kashi is returning, so the holy city has also started on the path of modern development at a fast pace. The narrow streets of the city are also getting smarter with their old look. Roads have been illuminated as well as hi-tech under the ‘Old Kashi Rehabilitation Scheme’. Cultural paintings have been made on the street walls. Extensive arrangements have been made for drainage and drainage. The wires are laid under the ground. Under the Smart City project, Dashaswamedh ward 16.22 crore, Kal Bhairab ward 16.24 crore, Raj Mandir ward 13.53 crore, Jangambari ward 12.65 crore and Garabasi Tola ward 9.60 crore from Varanasi Development Authority.
The Prime Minister’s four eastern visits in two months
In the last two months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Purbachal four times. During this time he inaugurated many big projects in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The identity of Purbachal will not be left behind. In Gorakhpur, Kushinagar and Siddharthnagar, the central and state governments have recently inaugurated projects worth over Rs 12.50 billion for health, communication and prosperity. The foundation stone of the project worth Rs 255 crore was also laid at the event.
In the 2017 assembly elections, 36 of the 41 assembly seats in seven districts of Gorakhpur-Basti division went to the BJP. It is clear that the 2022 elections will be interesting to see what the mood in the East is like after five years of building development. BJP’s seats will increase or decrease? However, the BJP is hopeful that the party will get more than 350 seats this time considering the pace of development during its rule.
