No patients have died so far from Omicron country. However, there have been one death each from the United States and the United Kingdom due to this variant.
Omicron is 3 times more contagious than Delta
Earlier, the Center had written to the states saying that Omicron was at least 3 times more contagious than the Delta. Therefore, more foresight, data analysis, quick decision making and strict preventive measures are needed at the local and district levels.
The Delhi government has already imposed a ban
We tell you that the Delhi government has already banned Christmas and New Year celebrations. The DDMA in its order has asked all district magistrates and district DCPs to ensure that no gatherings are held in the capital on Christmas or New Year. One should not allow any event or function where there is a possibility of large gathering of people.
