New Delhi: The 13th BRICS Summit was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of India. A declaration was issued on behalf of India at this conference. India has called for a peaceful recovery of the situation in Afghanistan and an end to violence. The BRICS countries backed China’s name for hosting the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. In addition, the countries participating in the conference have approved the presidency of China for the next BRICS conference in 2022.
This is the third time India is chairing the BRICS conference. Earlier, India chaired the BRICS summits in 2012 and 2011. In the midst of the Corona epidemic, the BRICS summit was held in 2020 under the chairmanship of Russia. Today’s conference was actually attended by Brazilian President Zaire Bolsonaro, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
