New Delhi. Manish Maheshwari, former chief of micro-blogging site Twitter India, has left the company to work with an education technology (Ed-Tech) company. He gave this information by tweeting on Wednesday. Social media platform Twitter had earlier transferred Maheshwari to the US in August.
He tweeted, “After working for almost three years, I am leaving Twitter with a heavy heart to dedicate myself to the cause of education and teaching. At the same time, I am excited about the impact that education can make on a global scale.”
Maheshwari said he is partnering with Tanay Pratap, who has worked with Microsoft as a senior software engineer. He said, “We will start providing training through virtual platform. This platform is named Metaversity.

Maheshwari said in a series of tweets, “The education sector is very close to my heart. I grew up in a middle-class family in the hinterland of India and have been a secondary school teacher. This is an opportunity for me to go back to my roots.”

Maheshwari was the CEO of Network18 Digital before joining Twitter. He has also worked with many other companies including Flipkart and P&G.
