Pulses Fry Recipe: When eating at a hotel or dhaba, no one can order fried pulses. Food seems incomplete without it. The taste of dhaba dal is not forgettable. If you also want to make dhaba flavored dal fry at home, we are going to tell you the method, which you can easily prepare by following it. This recipe is very popular in Punjab (Pujanbi recipe) which is made by mixing many pulses. It can also be made only with gram dal and tur dal.


Pulses frying ingredients

Tur dal – 4 tablespoons
Mug dal – 3 tbsp
Pulses – 3 tablespoons
Water – 1.5 cups + 3/4 cup
Onion (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Tomatoes (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Green pepper (finely chopped) – t
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Ginger powder – 1/2 inch
Garlic buds (soil) – 4
Cloves – 3
Cumin – 1/2 teaspoon
Red pepper – 2 dried
Hot spices – 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Green coriander (finely chopped) – 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste

How to make dal fry

To fry the pulses, first take all the pulses and wash them well in water. Then soak them in water for 10 minutes. Now put the dal mixture in the pressure cooker. Now add salt and one and a half cup of water and turn off the ida of the cooker. Now put the cooker on high heat. When the first whistle comes, turn the flame to medium. Cook the pulses until three whistles come in the cooker.

Now turn off the gas and open the cooker as soon as it cools down. The pulses will be cooked well. Now open the id icon of the cooker. There is no need to mash or crush the pulses. Now get ready for tampering. Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. When the ghee is hot enough, add cumin, red chilli, cloves and cinnamon. Then when it starts cracking, add the onion to it and keep stirring well with a ladle. Fry until onion is light brown.
Now fried ginger, finely chopped green chillies and garlic. Now add finely chopped tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft. Then mix well with hot spices, red chillies, coriander powder and turmeric. Now add cooked lentils and cook for about 1-2 minutes.

Now add lemon juice and 3/4 water and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Keep stirring in the middle. Turn off the gas after 5 minutes. Now your dhaba style dal bhaji is ready. Now take it out in a bowl and serve by adding finely chopped coriander on top.
