Amid the growing omicron threat, 290 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Delhi, the highest since June 10 and one death, with a positive rate reaching 0.55 per cent, according to data shared by the Delhi government’s health department on Sunday. The increase is the highest since June 10, when 305 COVID-19 cases were logged in Delhi with a positive rate of 0.41 per cent. A total of 44 deaths were also recorded that day.
The positive rate of 0.55 percent is the highest since June 4, when it was 0.68 percent. On Saturday, there were 249 cases in Delhi, the highest one-day increase since June 13 and one death, when the positivity rate rose to 0.43 per cent. As of Friday, 180 cases had been recorded with a positive growth rate of 0.29 percent, according to official figures.
With new cases on Sunday, the rising death toll rose to 14,43,352, with the death toll in the national capital rising to 25,105. So far more than 14.17 lakh patients have recovered. Since the COVID-19 positivity rate has touched 0.55 per cent, the Delhi government has decided to re-impose night curfew from Monday, according to sources.
