India has been disappointed in the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2021. Bollywood received three nominations in different categories of Emmy Awards, but none of them could work its magic. The 49th International Emmy Awards 2021 was held in New York, where the nominated winners were announced. There were expectations from India from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sushmita Sen and Birdas, who were nominated in various categories, but were denied three awards.
Prizes divided into 16 categories
The International Emmy Awards are announced each year in the United States. Each year, the award selection committee seeks input from relevant language experts in those countries to select and select the winners of these awards. India expected from them
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated for the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in the film ‘Sirius Man’ in 2020. Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has been nominated for Disney Plus Hotstar drama series ‘Arya’. Through this series, he made his debut on OTT. Besides, actor Birdas has been nominated in the comedy series category. Netflix had high expectations from Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Birdas. Last year, Richie Mehta’s show ‘Delhi Crime’ won an Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
He defeated Nawazuddin, Sushmita and Birdas and won the award
This year, the Israeli-made series ‘Tehran’ won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama. ‘Arya’ starring Sushmita Sen was defeated in this series. Bir Das’s show ‘Bir Das: For India’ lost to French show ‘Call My Agent Season 4’. David Tenant, who worked on the British show ‘Des’, won the award by defeating Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
