Kolkata. Delhi FC drew 2-2 with Bangalore FC in a thrilling Group C match of the 130th Durand Cup at Mohun Bagan in Kolkata on Saturday. Both teams got 1-1 points from the draw match. Willis scored two goals for Dion Plaza Delhi FC, while Shiv Shakti N (26th) and Vidyasagar Singh (65th) scored for Bangalore.
If this match is drawn, all four teams in Group C have a chance to advance to the next round. In the first half of the match, both teams created opportunities but failed to use most of the time. The players had to suffer because the field was wet. In the 26th minute of the match, Shiv Shakti’s goal opened the scoring for Bengaluru, then the Delhi team also created chances but their efforts were thwarted by Bengaluru goalkeeper Lara.
After half time, Delhi started attacking, which also benefited them. In the 56th minute of the match, the team equalized the score with a great header by Willis. The Trinidad and Tobago national team player scored another goal in four minutes to give the team a 2-1 lead. After taking the lead, the Delhi team was in good shape but Vidyasagar Harmanpreet Singh of Bangalore made no mistake to convert the great pass into a goal.
