    Delhi crime: Student dies after jumping from sixth floor of Commonwealth Games Village


    New Delhi. A ninth-grade student has committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the Commonwealth Games village under Delhi’s Mandawali police station at night. The name of the deceased is Kaushal Pratap (15). Kaushal’s father works as a joint secretary in a ministry. He is known to be mentally weak.

    The incident took place on Saturday night. At this time the neighbors came out when they heard the sound of someone falling. As it turns out, the strategy is in a bloody state. When the neighbor took him to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead. The family members rushed to the hospital after receiving the news of the boy’s jump.

    Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy. Apart from Mandawali police station, crime team and FSL team have also collected evidence from the spot. Police are investigating the matter with the help of CCTV cameras installed nearby.

    According to police, Kaushal lived with the Pratap family in a flat on the sixth floor of the Commonwealth Games Village. His family also includes father Gopal Pratap, mother and other members. Gopal Pratap is working as a joint secretary in a ministry. Leaving the boy alone at home on Saturday night, he went to Mayur Bihar Market to shop. Meanwhile, he got the news of the incident at night. Upon reaching the hospital, news of the boy’s death was received.

    In a statement to the police, Gopal Pratap said that his son had been suffering from mental illness for some time. He was also undergoing treatment. Police are now calling the incident a suicide after a preliminary investigation. Officials say the matter is being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of the information.
