    Himachal Pradesh reaches Vijay Hazare Trophy final for first time, congratulates Chief Minister Joy Ram Tagore


    Dharamshala. Himachal Pradesh has reached the final of Vijay Hazare Cricket Tournament for the first time. Himachal defeated Army team by 6 runs and reached the final. Now Tamil Nadu will face Jaipur in the final on December 26. Chief Minister Joy Ram Tagore congratulated Himachal Cricket on this achievement. At the same time, Himachal Sports Minister Rakesh Pathania congratulated and said, “All of you have made the state proud.”

    Himachal made it to the finals for the first time with a great performance in the Vijay Hazare cricket tournament. Due to the great all-round performance of captain Rishi Dhawan in the semifinals played on Friday, Himachal Army entered the final by defeating the team by 77 runs. Himachal will face Tamil Nadu in the final on December 26 in Jaipur.

    Tamil Nadu lost to Saurashtra by two wickets in the second semifinal

    In the second semi-final match, Tamil Nadu lost to Saurashtra by two wickets. Himachal, on the other hand, batted first in the semi-final against Services, losing six wickets in 50 overs and scoring 281 runs. The entire team was bowled out for 204 in the 48th over in front of the Army’s target of 262 runs. In this match, Himachal captain Rishi Dhawan gave an excellent all-round performance and played an important role in leading his team to the final.

    Rishi Dhawan played a great innings of 74 runs in the first 6 balls. At the same time, he performed better in bowling and took four wickets for 26 runs in eight overs. For Himachal, Prashant Chopra scored 6 runs and Akash Basishta played an unbeaten innings of 45 runs. He was named Man of the Match for Rishi Dhawan’s great all-round performance.

    Top Services won and took the fielding

    Earlier, the Services team decided to field first after winning the toss. Rajat Paliwal scored 55 and opener Ravi Chauhan scored 45 for the Army. Bowler Raj Bahadur took two wickets for the Army. Dibesh Pathania, Abhishek Tiwary and Rahul Singh got one wicket each. On the other hand, BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal and all the officials of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association congratulated the team for reaching the final of Vijay Hazare Cricket Tournament for the first time.
