Dubai. The second leg of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates. Earlier, veteran Delhi Capital batsman Steve Smith believed that if his team wanted to reach the IPL final, they would have to play their best cricket in the second leg of the T20 tournament. The tournament was postponed in April-May this year after the IPL bio-bubble was infected amid a growing case of Covid-1 of in India.
Before the league was suspended, the Delhi team performed brilliantly and won 6 of their first matches, scored 12 points and topped the table. Smith believes that the Delhi team, led by Rashav Panth, has the potential to perform better in the UAE in the second leg of the IAPL from September 19 to October 15.

“We have to start the leg where we finished the first leg,” said former Australia captain Smith. We were playing really good cricket and we got good results from it. I think we can do better so we should play our best cricket in the second leg of the tournament. The Delhi Capitals will start their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second round of the IPL from September 22.
In a statement issued from Delhi Capitals, the 32-year-old said, “You have to play very well to reach the final, but hopefully we can play our best cricket in the final.” He said, ‘The team must reorganize itself for the IPL.
