    Cinema halls and multiplexes closed in Delhi amid rising cases of COVID-19, read full report

    MumbaiIn view of the increasing cases of Kovid-19, the Delhi government has given instructions to immediately close the cinema halls and multiplexes of Delhi. Obviously, the government has taken this precautionary decision, which will have a bad effect on the box office collection of ‘RRR’.

    Film industry expert Ramesh Bala has tweeted and informed about the closure of cinema halls and multiplexes. He tweeted, ‘Breaking: Instructed to close cinema halls and multiplexes in Delhi with immediate effect…’

    There will be a bad effect on the earnings of films
    The film ‘RRR’ will hit the theaters on 7 January 2022 next year. In such a situation, what the filmmakers will decide, it will be a matter to be seen. But, one thing is clear, this will have a bad effect on the earnings of the films.

    This decision of the government is a big blow to the filmmakers and theater owners, exhibitors and distributors. Movies like ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Pushpa’ were drawing people to the theatres, despite opening of theaters with 50 per cent capacity.

    Film makers and theater owners will be affected
    Today on December 28, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that spas, gyms and cinema halls which were earlier running at 50 percent capacity will be closed. This announcement has come after the test positivity rate of Kovid-19 in Delhi is more than 0.5% for the last two days.
